Students are tasked with finding one or more quotes from a text or similar material that supports a specific claim about the reading. Depending on the size of the class, all students could be asked to find a quote for the same claim or students could be assigned different claims to investigate. Students would then be asked to present their quote and the reasoning behind why this quote is evidence for the claim. Alternatively, students could write up their response as an assignment to turn in at the end of class or online.
