Facilitators: John Geppert & Sydney Brown

John Geppert, professor of Finance and former director of assessment in the College of Business partnered with the Center for Transformative Teaching to offer a hands-on workshop focusing on the evaluation and teaching of critical thinking using machine-graded questions.

While there are general concepts related to evaluating and teaching critical thinking, the aim of this workshop was for participants to develop discipline-specific question items that measure critical thinking and required participants to have identified key concepts and the progression for learning those key concepts. Participants found this exercise more productive when working with a colleague having similar expertise.
