Large Enrollment Courses

  • What is a large enrollment course? Though definitions differ, we will be looking at classes with 50 or more enrolled students.
  • Why are large enrollment courses different than standard enrollment? In large enrollment courses, students will be more likely to be disengaged, and assessment techniques can become an avalanche of grading for instructors.
  • How can teaching in large enrollment courses be improved? By implementing some simple techniques, instructors can help combat these issues and have productive and informative classes. However, this list is by no means exhaustive. There are plenty of opportunities to explore your own creativity and to personalize your class.
