I am an Assistant Professor in the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
My lab focuses on understanding the ecology and evolution of infectious diseases with a particular focus on reducing the spread of antimicrobial resistance in natural and managed systems.
I teach a class called Superbugs, sex, and drugs: Why modern medicine needs evolutionary biology.
The goal is to help students understand the fundamentals of evolution and how harnessing evolutionary dynamics can help address major public health challenges like annual booster shots and the evolution of drug resistance in cancer and bacterial pathogens.
