Canvas Commons: Modules for Instructors

Wish your students knew more about academic integrity, research skills, or a variety of other topics? Consider using high-quality content available in the Canvas Commons that has been created for University of Nebraska-Lincoln instructors. Import these instructional modules into your course with just a couple of clicks. An additional benefit of importing modules from Canvas Commons is that they are automatically updated when the author makes a change. This is especially helpful for modules developed as student resources.

UNL Libraries also maintains a collection of video tutorials. Each of these can be customized for a specific course or program and/or imported into Canvas as a course module. The modules support faculty by providing students guidance on a variety of topics. Three of the most-used modules are Annotated Bibliographies and Evaluating Sources, Basic Research Skills, and Libraries Orientation. Teaching and Learning Librarian Melissa Gomis explains how to find library modules in the Canvas Commons in a short video.

In this video, Canvas Commons: Modules for Instructors, Eyde Olson explains what Canvas Commons modules are, why instructors might like to use them, and how to import them into courses.
