Equity in the classroom is not a destination, but a journey requiring ongoing reflection and input. This workshop facilitates reflection by presenting inclusive teaching strategies followed by time for reflection and discussion with peers. The workshop facilitates discussion around three topics: course policies, course interactions, and assessments. Participants will work together to identify ideas and next steps to continue increasing equity in courses.

Learning outcomes:

  • Use reflection to develop an inclusive teaching mindset
  • Create course policies that support both instructor and student needs
  • Develop assessments & class interactions that are inclusive of diverse student learners.
